One of the most common mistakes among foreigners with Mexican residency (temporary or permanent) happens when entering the country. Many residents, unknowingly, go through immigration checkpoints as if they were tourists — either at the immigration counter or by using the automated machines (e-gates) — without identifying themselves as residents.
